I’d like to start off by saying… lunch was amazing! Cecconi’s provided a family style spread which included delicious meatballs, parmesan eggplant and the most wonderful mashed potatoes… EVER! And to top it off… we were entertained with so much laughter and insight from this phenomenal woman.
Here’s 5 things I learned about Marietta Sirleaf (RETTA):
1. Graduated from Duke University with a degree in Sociology. She’s a chemist and lived in Raleigh NC which is where I’m from and lived for over 20 years!
2. Only became a stand up comedian because she learned her colleagues were getting sitcom opportunities.
3. I asked about her experience with the cast/ladies…
“I met with the ladies for drinks before we went to Atlanta. A day or two before we had to be on set… I met with Christina, had some food & drinks… and we clicked right away which I was thankful for because you don’t want to be on set figuring out how you’re gonna be around someone. Knowing I was going to have to spend a great deal of time and go through emotional things… you want to feel that it’s going to be ok just to be around them. So it was just really nice to click with her. And then we got the group text and then i’m like.. You guys… it’s 4 AM! Stop texting… LOL, we have to work at 7!”
4. One of her desires is to play a femme fatale girl.
“Even if its just a parody… I want to be the one where I look at a character and they’re like… What?? And I ‘m like… Yeah bitch… MOVE! Yeah… I wanna be slick on camera”
5. She is currently binge watching “Comedians In Cars”.
Sending a very special thanks to the Allied team and NBC for the invite. Take a look at a few fun pics I snapped of the food… and selfie:
And here’s RETTA having fun with her guest:
Good Girls:
When three suburban moms get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local grocery store. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.
From Executive Producer Jenna Bans comes this comedy-infused drama that mixes a little “Thelma & Louise” with a bit of “Breaking Bad.” GOOD GIRLS premieres February 26 and will air Mondays at 10/9c.
