MEET Marlon Dayes (@876Pilot), a young BLACK PILOT from Jamaica and he’s just 24 years old! Some of you may be saying, “I’ve seen this post before”. You HAVE…. this is a REPOST as the story is just too good.
Last year, my hubby and I was at LAX… heading to our gate to fly back home to ATL. I happened to notice a handsome young man standing in line to get a bite to eat and I stopped in my tracks, tapped him on the shoulder and asked… “Are you a PILOT?”
We see so many wonderful athletes, entertainers and even doctors… I was truly AMAZED and inspired to see this black pilot with this huge “aviation” position to fly thousands of people across the skies to their destinations. My profession allows me to see & photograph a lot of celebrities… but THIS was even more exciting!
Side note: My hubby knows my MO and just kept walking to the gate. LOL!
Ok so here’s a few fun facts I’m sure you want to know:
*Moved from Jamaica to Florida 5 years ago.
*Attended Florida Tech and graduated with honors & degree in Aviation Management.
*LOVES airplanes and wanted to be pilot since he was 5.
*Started working at the airlines at the ripe ole age of 22.
*876 is the area code for Jamaica
*Likes to hang out with friends and play FIFA video games during his down time.
