I’m SO excited to announce… the launch of Dr. Jerisa Johnson Berry’s NEW web app, Secure Your Fertility… just in time for National Infertility Awareness Week, April 24-29. This board-certified emergency medicine doctor created the app to serve as a convenient tool for monitoring reproductive health and to help women keep track of their fertility status. How cool is that?!?!!
I had a chance to speak with Dr. Jerisa ER and it was perfect timing considering my mom’s recent stroke and emergency room experience. I wasn’t there when mom was brought to the hospital but I came across Dr. Jerisa’s “Tips to Help Improve Your Emergency Room Experience” piece. and wanted to know MORE! After I asked tons of questions here’s what the doctor had to say:
*Make sure your phone numbers are memorized.
*Have a list of your medications available.
*Provide next of kin.
Luckily my mom had this information available & she is recovering nicely.:-)
RobinLori: What motivated you to create the “Secure Your Fertility” app?
Dr. Jerisa ER: 2 years ago I had a personal experience… trying to become parents with my husband. I basically turned my PAIN into PURPOSE.
More than seven million women in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting or staying pregnant, and one in eight couples struggle to build a family, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Nothing is more heartbreaking for hopeful moms than being told pregnancy may not be possible. Secure Your Fertility is designed to give users early notice of optimal times to conceive, with tips and guidance on how to increase chances of conception. The app also offers educational resources and an anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) test, offered through local testing sites as a money-saving alternative to making doctor appointments or paying for health insurance.
