Great news for Atlanta! Louis Gossett Jr. has signed on as executive producer of Ali’s Comeback: The Untold Story. The documentary focuses on the efforts of influential leaders in the City of Atlanta to secure the right for Muhammad Ali to fight in the city… despite incredible opposition. It chronicles the role Atlanta played in granting Ali a license to return to the boxing ring after over 50 attempts to return him to the boxing ring.
The film is directed by Art Jones and Mazen Malas and produced by Frank Wheaton and Henry Woods. Mr. Gossett also appears as a narrator and will be assisting in the final stages of the production.
Louis Gossett Jr. is best known for his Academy Award winning role as Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley in the film An Officer and a Gentleman, and his role as Fiddler in the ABC television miniseries Roots
Proceeds from the film will support Mr. Gossett’s Eracism Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides training for youth and adults alike that enrich their lives by assisting them in setting the example for living a racially diverse and culturally inclusive life.
