Pan African Film & Arts Festival to Open with Marquee Film ‘Love Jacked’

Just in… “Love Jacked” is slated as the 2018 Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) opening night marquee film!  Love Jacked is directed by Alfons Adetuyi and stars Amber Stevens-West, Shamier Anderson, Lyriq Bent, Keith David, Mike Epps, Marla Gibbs, Angela Gibbs, Demetrius Grosse and Nicole Lyn.

A young African American woman, has dreams of becoming an artist, but is stuck running the family hardware store for her overbearing father. When she asserts her independence by traveling to Africa she returns with a fiancé who is not quite what he seems. LOVE JACKED taps into the new wave of popular African American comedies, while focusing on the complicated relationship between father and daughter.

The PAFF is one of the largest celebrations of Black culture and will showcase over 170 films from over 40 countries within five continents and in 26 languages!  The event will also serve as an official Oscar-qualifying festival for shorts and live-action films and will hold special screenings for several works including that are up for consideration for the 90th Annual Academy Awards.

Pan African Film Festival will take place at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw 15 Theatre on Thursday, February 8 through Monday, February 19, in Los Angeles, California.
